An old chair that fits right in ...

An old chair ... love how this one turned out! :)

PS - Giving an old chair a new look is a hobby of mine - I love it. Maybe someday I'll open a 'Chairs by Wendy' shop ...

The front room on a Thursday night in July ...

I was going upstairs to get ready for bed and I looked down and thought - "Wow, what a beautiful room!" :) And had to capture it with my camera. It's finally starting to feel like home...

An old chair (with a NEW look) -

See the old chair (above in brown) ...
See the chair all dressed in 'shabby' style ...

Love it.
Style notes -
Paint for chair: Laura Ashley / Bleached Wheat
Fabric: Waverly / Fairhaven

The doors.

Since we changed all the floors in the house, the doors all needed to be cut so they could open and close with the new floor heights ... It was great to get them outside and fix them up!
Kaleb is an expert at taking things apart - so we had him remove the door knobs :)
Thanks Kaleb!
I spray painted the gold knobs to black - they look great. The finish work and little details take so much time ... WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS and it feels good.

Downstairs ...

A red chair (for my office) ...

Love that door - up next: The trim and a doorknob!

Hello paint!

Meet the paint and the paintbrush ... It was good to get them out again!

The little door in the bathroom ...

The little closet door is up in the bathroom! I love how quaint this closet is ... adds a nice touch of 'old charm' to the room :)
The tile around the shower :) ... love the colors and style of it.
Subway tile around the middle and on top.

The bathroom ...

Upstairs ...

Love these old, vintage lights that light up the stairway and hallway ...

We love the new, plush carpet too! :)

Farwell little bird ...

Due to all the commotion in the backyard yesterday, the little bird (and her babies) abandoned their nest on our back patio. I was sad to see them go ... Good luck little feathered friends! :)

Digging up the backyard ...

I wish all this madness would amount to a new swimming pool in the backyard ... alas, it did not. We had some broken sewer pipes 8+ feet under the ground and ended up having 45 feet of it replaced.
Wow.

All done. It feels good to know that all is well down in the ground! We've had a few issues with the place since we moved in and this should help solve the problem. :)

Projects on the back patio ...

Just finished painting these 2 pieces - love how bold they are in red ...

An old brown chair ... (before)

(After) ... WOW - check out that new look! :)

I painted the above kitchen table in black and am going to keep it out on the back patio so we can use it outside ... love the black and red together. :) Ahhhhh feel the energy!

Little facts about the color red:
•Increases enthusiasm
•Stimulates energy
•Encourages action and confidence
•A sense of protection from fears and anxiety

Adding the 'Ohh la la' ...

My office downstairs needs some storage space/help... This cabinet was downstairs so I decided I could restore and restyle it by painting it red.
(before)

Bye bye sage green ...

Hello red :) ...

Love it!

The curtains (in white) ...

Dining room ...

Love how these puddle on the floor ... so frilly, pretty.

In the front room - white ... Don't you love that couch of pillows?! Makes me want to dive in and snuggle with a good book.

Curtains in the front room - simple. clean. elegant.
I used white curtains throughout the entire house. They are not all the same and I love how it feels/flows.
