The piano ...

The piano. :)

The front room ...

As you can see, we still need to put up the trim and finish the doorway into the dining room. We've spent the past week trying to put stuff away ... I am always amazed at how much stuff there is to move, sort and get rid of. The house is starting to feel like home and we've worked out (hopefully) most of the kinks ... :) My fingers are crossed.

Look around ... :)

I like the white curtains in the dining room ... still trying to decide which white ones to use.
I need to recover the dining room chairs and am leaning towards black and white ... maybe I'll cover them in different black and white prints?

I used white curtains in every room - it makes the house feel calm, pretty and clean.

Another glance at the dining room.
A shot of the front room ... the piano on the right was a gift from my Mother-in-law! We love it.
Thanks Gwen ... We hear the sound of music at our house! ah ah ah ahhhhhhhhhh....

The dining room with a table and chairs ...

I had a box of curtains in the storage unit and it was fun to pull them out and try them on the windows :) ... I really like this dining room and am leaning towards white curtains. Who knows though...?!

The new kitchen oven ...

There it is ... :)

The new table in the dining room ...

Love the new, big table.

Using the new stove ...

Hot out of the oven ... (brownies on the counter). I had to try out our new stove and so I made brownies. Oh they were ultra yum - we ate them on paper plates and enjoyed every bite!

{Moving}

Everything is subject to change :) ...

Moving in ...

Meet Butterscotch - Lauren's horse :) ...

Pulled that piece out of the storage unit - it goes in the basement.

Boxes. I feel like our whole world is in a box ... :)
Special thanks to all the wonderful people who helped us move.

Hanging the curtain rods/hardware ...

It's been a while since I had a moment to post anything new here on the blog ... We moved last weekend and it's been pure madness ever since! :)
This house was vacant for a year and a half and had no running water and let's just say - it's been a wild adventure.
Special thanks to my Dad and Mom for all their help. We had fun hanging the curtain rods and getting things ready for the 'move in'.

The new stove is being delivered today ...
Lauren's room with a shaggy rug :) ...

A new kitchen table ... It's big (seats 8)
I can hardly wait to get it set up and share a family dinner together :)
I still have the old table that I'm working on out on the back porch. We'll use it outside :)

Outside the window ...

I love these white lilacs outside the house :) ... They made me smile today!

New carpet for the stairs ....

These are the stairs leading to the upstairs ... They get new carpet tomorrow!
These are the stairs leading to the basement.

Going down to the basement ...
We can hardly Wait to see how they will look with carpet! :)
No doubt it will be a BIG improvement.

Working in the basement ...

A room in the basement - ready for carpet. Can you smell that new paint? ...
Tory and Kade working on the new door. (Nice face Kade!)

My man.

The new door goes there ...

Wow! Love it.

The carpet crew will install new carpet tomorrow! Yahooooooo :) ...

Getting the stairs ready for carpet ...

These are the stairs going up ... they have these big trim pieces along the sides that are full of layers of old paint. Half of it was chipped away so we decided to scrape all the paint off the trim pieces so they would be ready for new paint and the carpet.
My Mom ... Thanks so much for all you help today!

That's me - scrape ... scrape ... scrape.

Not pictured: My daughter (Lauren) in the background singing - "Happy Birthday to you ..."
