This used to be gray and quite ugly... I took the label off (set it aside) and spray painted the metal cover black. I love what new paint can do for an item :) ...
The gray on the inside of the door is the color the entire piece used to be. I like it black. Check out that old electrical box... from the 40's. They don't make those anymore. It's an authentic part of this old letter house.
